Aftercare

The most critical stage for the client starts upon returning home from the clinic. People feel they have regained their health; they feel as if they have been born again, they have restored their self-confidence, and are making plans. In short, they have their energy back. At the same time, however, they suffer from tension and insecurity. The client has changed but their surroundings have not and he is confronted with the consequences of his addiction both in his relationships, at work, but also in a material respect. He will need to adjust to this, step by step. Good supervision is crucial during this stage. Not just for the client, but also for the people near to him.

SolutionS aftercare programme

What are your triggers and your pitfalls and how can you avoid or learn to cope with them. After all, without proper supervision you may relapse into previous behaviour or start using again.  This is why our aftercare programme logically follows the stay at our clinic; it starts immediately after the stay and will take at least 3 months, with 2 individual sessions a week, and a group sessions once every 2 weeks

The aftercare programme is first and foremost aimed at preventing relapse. Filling in the details of the 12 steps and ‘Change’ are further cornerstones of the programme.

In consultation with the client, family members are also intensely involved in the aftercare programme. If necessary or desirable, a relationship or system therapist is involved in the process.
