Partner Clinics

The partner clinics of SolutionS are located in England, Portugal, the USA, Antigua and South Africa for the English-language programme, and in Germany for the German-language programme. Additionally, we have a French-speaking clinic in Switzerland. All countries offer the best and most advanced treatments available on the international market of addiction clinics.

These clinics were carefully selected on the basis of important criteria including: staffing, specialist areas, development and transparency of treatment methods, location, and level of comfort, facilities and costs.

There is often the question of underlying psychological problems such as depression, stress, burn-out or anxiety and panic attacks. The staff at all our clinics consist of doctors, psychiatrists and therapists who are able to treat these complaints in combination with the addiction to the highest professional standards.

Internationally recognised 28-day programme

Without exception, all SolutionS partner clinics are leading in their area of expertise.
Within the selection criteria, language is a vital aspect. Which language does the client feel most at home using; which language best lends itself to allow the feelings to be expressed in words. Just a basic ability in a language is often sufficient. Due to the growing number of Dutch clients, a number of therapists are already learning Dutch. The length of the stay in these clinics is a minimum of four weeks. This so-called 28-day programme is very intensive and it has an internationally acknowledge standard. This does not mean that the length of this programme is sufficient for all people. Whether or not it is, depends on the condition of the individual client.

All the partner clinics of SolutionS employ the Twelve-Step Minnesota Model as the basis for the treatment programme. This twelve-step approach is embraced by the International addiction care community as the most successful, structured approach for treating addiction.

Recognition and identification with people in the same situation

The clients who are treated in these clinics are a reflection of the target group of SolutionS.
This recognition of and identification with fellow addicts is a powerful healing tool. You are not alone; others with similar backgrounds have precisely the same problem. It allows you to overcome the shame and let go of the negative self-image and work towards a very real turn-around in your life.

A central theme in all clinics is respect for the person who seeks help.

Treatment of young people

For young people there are special clinics where specific treatments are tailored to fit their precise problems. Because young addicts have also suffered an emotional setback, a stay of a number of months is recommended. There are exceptional secondary care facilitates in America, England and South Africa. For clients with eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia and binge eating SolutionS works with specialised clinics. For clients with a sex addiction there are also special clinics.

The choice of a clinic is determined by:
  • the addiction at hand; what psychological complaints are involved or what sort of combination of addiction and psychological complaints are involved.
  • the language in which the client is best capable of expressing himself.
  • Is men fit to fly.
  • whether the client is fit to fly.
  • the financial commitments the client is able to guarantee.
  • whether there is a need for a family programme at the clinic.

After you have chosen your clinic, in close consultation with SolutionS, all further arrangements are made by SolutionS, including:

Reservations at the clinic.
  • Extensive oral and written briefing of the staff who will be treating you.
  • Booking the return trip.
  • Transfers at the airport – clinic - airport.
  • Any requirement for 'door-to-door' chaperoning.
  • Checking in.
  • Maintaining contact with the client at the clinic.
  • Solving all practical problems.
  • Discussions with the staff.
  • Discussions with the family and partner, after consulting the client.
  • Translation of the letters from the home front which are requested by the clinic and are used in the therapy.
  • Debrief after completion of the treatment.
  • Financial/administrative matters.

Aftercare program in partner clinics

The aftercare starts as soon as treatment at the clinic has been completed. Should there be a relapse during this time, the severity of the relapse will determine the course of action. If there is a serious relapse, a period of re-treatment may be needed. Usually, this will just be a short period, that is best spent at the clinic where the original treatment took place.
